May Fayre 2012 Poster Competition

Win a £50 donation for your school and a £20 book voucher for yourself!

Local primary school pupils are invited to submit original pictures to use in publicising this year’s May Fayre at Petts Wood Hall. The best entries, as judged by a panel selected by the May Fayre Committee, will be used on posters, flyers and other advertising for the May Fayre, which is on Bank Holiday Monday 7th May 2012.

Parents and teachers, please help children to draw or paint a picture. Did they attend last year’s May Fayre? What was their favourite thing? With so much to choose from there won’t be a shortage of inspiration, from the May Queen Parade and crowning or the fun rides, the colourful stalls, the bands or the dancing...

The competition is open to all children attending primary school in the London Borough of Bromley. Children should use a square area on a sheet of paper - ideally 20cm (8in) square - and make their design as bold and colourful as possible. Please also try to leave us some space to include wording for the attractions.

The deadline for entries is Monday 20th February 2012. Please send entries to: May Fayre Poster Competition, Memorial Hall, 200 Petts Wood Road, BR5 1LA. Please include your name, school and either an address or telephone number so that we can contact you if you win. We will announce the winner's name, age and school. Please note that no details provided will be used for any other purpose or retained.

May Fayre 2011

The 2011 May Fayre at Petts Wood Hall was held on Bank Holiday Monday 2 May 2011 from 10am to 4pm.

The celebrations will start with a parade through the town centre by the Petts Wood May Queen group. The May Fayre takes place in the gardens of the Memorial Hall, along Bluston Parade and in the adjacent car park. Petts Wood Road will be closed to traffic to provide a safe environment for the day. We expect over forty community and charity stalls, a hog roast, fairground rides and activities for children, a classic and sports car display, bouncy castle, crowning of the May Queen, maypole dancing, and live performances with audience participation for all the family.

This traditional community event is organised by a committee of volunteers and charitable organisations who rely on local volunteers and donations to make the event happen. The May Fayre draws many people to the town and brings the whole community together.

To volunteer to help at this worthwhile community event, please e-mail mayfayre@pettswoodhall.co.uk. We have many roles available and can really use the help of as many volunteers as possible.

We would be delighted if you could join us for a fun day for all the family in support of local charities.
